Linck requires one (1) contract, full-time (70 hours bi-weekly) Mental Health Family Intervention Worker starting as soon as possible and lasting for a period of one (1) year.
The incumbent in this position will provide support and education services to families through intensive goal and task-oriented intervention to enhance the families’ ability to understand, support and adaptively respond to the mental health needs of the children and youth. Services are short-term and designed to address behavioural and mental issues according to the mental health treatment goals.
Qualifications:
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma required.
- Over three (3) months and up to including one year related experience.
- CPI Certificate is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of child development and common mental health issues in children.
- Parent management training is considered an asset.
- Tact and discretion are required for working with families that may be experiencing a crisis.
- Skill in interpreting or clarifying information from parents and children/youth in their home.
- Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions.
- A commitment to developing the highest quality culturally-appropriate service possible for the various communities that we serve.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff.
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
- Computer and keyboarding skills, extensive use of word-processing programs.
- The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.
